Manchester Motor Company is looking for a Used Car Buyer to join our team in Manchester, MD! A used car buyer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring pre-owned vehicles for our dealership. This role involves researching market trends, inspecting vehicles for quality and value, negotiating purchase prices with sellers (including individuals, auctions, and other dealers), and ensuring all acquisitions meet our dealerships inventory and profitability goals. This is a full time position, and we offer Salary + Commission based on performance!

Used Car Buyer Qualifications:

• 2+ years of automotive experience, specifically related to vehicle sales and used car management
• Experience with vehicle appraisals, documentation or other elements of the car buying process is a huge plus
• Excellent communication and sales skills
• Self-motivated and driven by performance-based compensation
• Reliable transportation to travel to regional customers’ locations
• Valid Driver’s License

Used Car Buyer Responsibilities:

• Prospect new leads for used car sales
• Provide quotes for vehicles based on information provided by prospective customers
• Facilitate the purchase of used vehicles based on leads, dealing with both dealer-dealer transactions and consumer-dealer transactions.
• Travel to clients’ locations to complete vehicle inspection, process transactional documentation and finalize purchases
• Perform appraisals on prospective vehicles, ensuring accurate documentation of vehicle information, condition, mileage and more.
• Provide an unmatched customer service experience in order to drive competitive offers and close deals quickly and efficiently
• Communicate with management and other staff to ensure accurate documentation and vehicle requirements are met
• Acquire vehicle inventory for all our locations on a needs basis.
• Develops and maintains outside sources (wholesalers and retailers) for buying units.
• Keeps abreast of auto auction activity and prices and attends auctions on a regular basis.
• Buyer will utilize all sources available to acquire inventory: Live auctions, online sources, financial institutions, new and used car dealer and off-street purchases
