About the Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator - Utility is responsible for setting up and operating high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift: 3rd Shift 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM
Pay: $20 -$23 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus, recently averaging $3 to $5 per hour

What You’ll Do

  • Observes all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.

  • Performs advanced setup and calibration of equipment.

  • Inspects materials for quality issues before, during, and after production.

  • Records and reports any deficiencies in quality to supervisor/quality department.

  • Maintains equipment tooling and necessary tools for job completion.

  • Diagnoses equipment and quality problems while minimizing scrap and delays.

  • Completes reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.

  • Assists maintenance in equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • Participates in continuous improvement programs.

  • Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to read and write English; capable of maintaining production records and logs.

  • Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.

  • Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions.

  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.

  • Ability to operate forklift, crane, and other equipment necessary for job completion.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.

  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per posted schedule required.

  • Leads and promotes health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

  • Requires constant movement and use of limbs, manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for several hours.

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for 10–12 hours.

  • Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.

  • Other physical requirements as needed for the role.
