Utility Engineer

As a Utility Engineer, your key responsibilities include planning, reviewing, and supervising the installation, relocation, and protection of utilities such as water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, electrical, and telecom systems within infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, review, and oversee the installation, relocation, and protection of utilities (water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, electrical, telecom, etc.) within infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and service providers to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with UAE regulations.
  • Review utility design drawings, shop drawings, and as-built submissions to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Monitor utility works on-site to ensure timely progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Resolve design and coordination issues related to utility conflicts and propose effective solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain utility progress reports, inspection logs, and documentation.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and government agencies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAE working as a Utility Engineer on infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, drainage, water networks, electrical and telecom utilities).
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of local authority procedures (e.g., DEWA, RTA, Etisalat, DU).
  • Proven experience in coordinating utility diversions and new installations.
