Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Valve Testing Engineer/Technician to carry out inspection, pressure testing, functional testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of industrial valves.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all valves are tested safely and accurately according to approved procedures, client specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, shell, seat leakage, back-seat, and functional testing of industrial valves.
  • Test gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, safety, relief, and pressure-reducing valves.
  • Review valve data sheets, drawings, pressure ratings, testing procedures, and client requirements.
  • Prepare, install, and secure valves on testing benches before testing.
  • Operate valve testing benches, hydraulic pumps, compressors, pressure gauges, manifolds, hoses, and related equipment.
  • Apply the required testing pressure and maintain it for the specified holding time.
  • Identify seat leakage, body leakage, pressure loss, operational faults, and damaged components.
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting and recommend repair, lapping, machining, adjustment, or component replacement.
  • Support valve dismantling, cleaning, inspection, assembly, refurbishment, and final testing activities.
  • Verify that all pressure gauges, torque tools, and testing instruments have valid calibration certificates.
  • Record test pressure, holding time, leakage results, valve condition, and final test status.
  • Prepare valve testing reports, inspection records, test certificates, and job completion documents.
  • Coordinate with workshop supervisors, quality personnel, clients, and third-party inspectors during witnessed testing.
  • Maintain proper valve identification, tagging, and traceability throughout the testing process.
  • Follow approved safety procedures and use the required personal protective equipment during high-pressure testing.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, abnormal test results, and procedural deviations.
  • Maintain testing equipment, tools, and the valve testing area in good working condition.
  • Support valve testing, commissioning, shutdown, and maintenance activities at client sites when required.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, ITI, or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial valve testing, maintenance, inspection, or refurbishment.
  • Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, marine, water treatment, or industrial service companies.
  • Practical knowledge of valve pressure ratings, flange classes, valve components, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, ISO, or manufacturer valve testing standards.
  • Experience using valve testing benches, hydraulic pumps, pneumatic equipment, pressure gauges, and mechanical tools.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of industrial valve types and operating principles.
  • Strong practical knowledge of pressure testing and leakage detection.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, valve data sheets, and testing instructions.
  • Good mechanical troubleshooting and fitting skills.
  • Strong awareness of high-pressure testing hazards and safety requirements.
  • Ability to prepare basic technical reports and testing records.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently in workshop and site environments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Training or certification in valve testing, valve maintenance, quality control, or pressure-testing safety.
  • Experience with safety and relief valve testing and calibration.
  • Experience attending client or third-party witnessed testing.
  • UAE oil and gas or industrial experience is preferred.
  • UAE driving licence is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work at client sites, during shutdowns, and outside normal working hours when required.
