Job Title: Van Driver

Location: Upton Upon Severn

Hours: Monday to Friday (41.5 hours per week)

Reports to: Transport Supervisor

Our Drivers do more than a driving job. You are the face of the business ensuring all goods are delivered in first class condition completing all necessary paperwork and leaving with a good impression of you and our business.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High levels of health and safety standards
• Numerate and literate
• Ability to communicate with customers and co workers
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility
• Diligent attention to detail
• Good knowledge of HGV driver rules and regulations

Desirable Requirement

• Experience of multi-drop deliveries
• Current fork truck certificate (B1 counterbalance)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that the load is correct against customer’s orders
• Check goods off with customer and ensure a signature and print
• Provide excellent customer service
• Handle customers issues on delivery and contact Transport Office if required
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law
• Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage
• Maintain the cleanliness of the cab
• Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum
• Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance to companies accident reporting procedures
• Complete vehicle daily inspection and report any defects to Manager
• Attend essential training to carry out the driving role
• To provide support in warehouse if required by the Transport Manager
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Physical Demands

• Loading and unloading of product from the vehicle
• Opening and closing of vehicle curtains/doors, Moving product by hand around warehouse
