Role Overview
The Van Sales Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of van sales representatives to drive sales, ensure efficient distribution, and maintain high visibility of our FMCG products in the field. This role combines sales leadership, route optimization, merchandising, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Coaching
- Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of van sales reps.
- Set clear performance objectives (sales volume, coverage, customer visits).
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback or corrective actions.
- Sales & Distribution Management
- Ensure achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets (by value and volume).
- Optimize route-to-market (RTM) strategies to maximize coverage and minimize costs.
- Monitor distribution metrics: numeric & weighted distribution, availability, and stock levels in vans.
- Trade Execution & Visibility
- Ensure compliance with van journey plans.
- Implement brand visibility and merchandising plans in retail outlets.
- Lead execution of sales promotions, new launches, and product activations.
- Maintain planogram discipline, space share, and ensure the presence of key SKUs.
- Inventory & Van Operations
- Oversee van loading/unloading, stock reconciliation, and returns.
- Monitor loading plans (loadogram) to avoid stock-outs.
- Ensure FIFO (first in, first out) for perishable SKUs and address near-expiry issues.
- Work with warehouse/logistics to coordinate van replenishment and returns.
- Cash & Credit Management
- Manage cash collection from van sales, ensure cash handling SOPs are followed.
- Monitor receivables (DSO) for van sales, and escalate issues.
- Ensure credit limits are respected and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
- Conduct regular market visits to understand customer behavior, competitor activity, and pricing trends.
- Provide actionable insights to management on improvements and changes in market trends.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and present daily / weekly / monthly sales and van operations reports.
- Use data-driven approach to identify gaps, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions.
- Compliance & SOPs
- Ensure compliance with company policies: van maintenance, health & safety, cash handling, HR protocols.
- Enforce SOPs around inventory management, van cleanliness, and team behavior.
- Coordinate with HR for van sales team hiring, training, and performance management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in FMCG van sales or field sales, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Driving License: Valid UAE driving license required.

- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with sales force automation / ERP is a plus
