A van salesman is responsible for selling products directly from a company van, maintaining customer relationships, and achieving sales targets through effective communication and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Promotion: Identify and develop new sales opportunities while promoting and selling products directly to customers from the van.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with existing customers and attract new ones by informing them about new products and services.
- Order Management: Take orders, process sales transactions, and collect payments from customers.
- Delivery and Inventory: Deliver products to customers, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper handling of goods.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels using sales software or databases.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the company van, including scheduling timely servicing appointments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Driving License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
- Sales Experience: Proven track record as a salesperson in Battery, Lubricant, Car Care, Hand Tools, and Power Tools is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively engage with customers and promote products.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on the road.
- Customer Service Orientation: Strong focus on providing excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
