Position Summary
The Department of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Variable Hours Officer (VHO) to work as a project coordinator on two externally funded projects, including funding from the National Institute for Nursing Research (NINR) and the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) for the CONCERN study. The VHO will work in Dr. Sarah Rossetti’s lab.
Responsibilities
The Variable Hours Officer will work closely with our data collection, analysis and implementation team to coordinate tasks between sites, collect and maintain project data and aid in the development of administrative reports and publications. The VHO will lead and initiate project planning activities and updates including delegating and following up on team assignments. In addition, the VHO will aid in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses and dissemination activities. The VHO will also be responsible for managing IRB approvals, including tracking modifications and renewals, and will lead single IRB processes with collaborating sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biomedical informatics, or related field.
Other Requirements
Candidates should have strong project coordination and communication skills as well as exposure to research methods, programming and/or clinical informatics. Must also demonstrate strong writing and interpersonal skills to be part of a collaborative, team-based effort and be a self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and who can play a major role in initiating new projects and help to bring several projects to completion. Related experience in technology, information management, clinical trials, qualitative methods, relational database design and development, and/or data mining or statistics, including programming, managing and maintaining data systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The ability to work cross-functionally as part of a team, as well as an individual contributor and to perform tasks according to the directions of faculty researchers and their project managers on specific projects. Must have experience using Python, Java, C#, ASP. NET, AJAX, JSON, or other related languages and database management experience with SQL skills.
