Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Operations and Reporting:
• Daily Stand-up Meetings: The onsite ESS Team will conduct and document daily stand-up meetings with the Diyar Onsite Operations Team and the IT Operations Manager to review the status of ongoing issues, planned activities, and priorities.
• Performance and Status Updates:
• Provide consolidated feedback and updates from offshore support teams to onsite stakeholders and vice versa, ensuring alignment and continuity.
• Prepare VAS Systems Performance Reports and operational statistics, and present in the weekly Performance Review Meetings (FMO Ops) with the customer, including key observations, system health indicators, outstanding issues, and resolution progress
• Cross-Departmental Coordination and Meetings: The team will actively participate in and lead onsite coordination for the following:
• Stakeholder Meetings: Attend and represent the VAS Systems team in periodic meetings with key stakeholders, including client Technology Planning, Security Operations, Demand and Delivery departments, as well as the Huawei Core Team, Infrastructure Team, Network Planning, and Network Operations teams, to discuss the scope and impact of their maintenance activities and provide support for the same.
• Business and Marketing Collaboration: Engage in regular and ad-hoc meetings with Client Business and Marketing teams to address urgent requests, provide status updates on ongoing initiatives, and gather requirements for new services configurations. Real-time support on urgent campaign or service-related issues and facilitate for fast-track implementation and issue resolution based on business priorities
• Emergency and VIP Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for the Network Operations Center (NOC) during all network, business, and regulatory emergencies, as well as for high-priority and VIP customer issues. This includes facilitating direct communication between the NOC, the offshore support team, and other relevant technical groups to ensure rapid resolution.
Technical Support and Project Activities:
• Maintenance and Upgrades: Collaborate closely with the Huawei Core Team, Network Team, Security Team, and Infrastructure Team to provide onsite support for regular upgrade activities, redundancy testing, and troubleshooting of critical issues. This includes coordinating access, validating changes, and performing on-site tests as required.
• Project Planning: Attend and contribute to all brainstorming sessions and meetings organized by the teams mentioned above to ensure proper planning and execution of projects related to the VAS systems.
• New Service Implementation (CRs): Coordinate with the NOC, Huawei Core Team, and ESS/BSS teams for all regular maintenance activities and on-site testing for new VAS Change Requests (CRs), specifically for Enghouse and other relevant platforms. This involves physical presence and validation to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
NOC and Emergency Coordination:
• Maintain close coordination with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to respond to:
• Begulatory escalations.
• VIP complaint handling and priority restoration activities.
• Emergency fallback and service restoration for VAS platforms.
• This includes facilitating direct communication between the NOC, the offshore support team, and other relevant technical groups to ensure rapid resolution of priority and VIP cases.
Education & Qualification
• First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Special Skills
• Prefer experiences with multi-vendor VAS products (Jinny,Ericsson,Nokia,Huawei) and SMSC Platform
• GSM networking technologies principles and protocols especially on SMS Flow
• Good Knowledge of SS7,SMPP, MAP, CAP, and Diameter protocols
• Strong Knowledge in the Configuration and management of SMSC nodes, Routing, and message queue management
• Good Knowledge in OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Layer 2/3 switching and routing, VPN, firewalls, and NAT
• Strong Computer knowledge and UNIX, Linux use for administration and shell scripting, Python, or Perl for automation
• Good knowledge in database like Oracle, SQL etc.
• Good Troubleshooting skills, Log analysis and system monitoring tools
