VAT and Corporate Tax Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented VAT and Corporate Tax Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, managing the preparation and submission of VAT and corporate tax returns, and supporting tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities. This role requires strong technical knowledge of VAT and corporate tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

VAT Compliance & Advisory

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate VAT returns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local VAT laws and regulations.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor changes in VAT laws and update internal processes accordingly.

Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and file corporate income tax returns in accordance with local tax laws.
  • Maintain accurate records of tax computations and supporting documentation.
  • Manage tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax authorities during tax audits and assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements.

Tax Planning & Advisory

  • Support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies.
  • Conduct research on tax legislation and provide recommendations to minimize tax exposure.
  • Analyze the tax impact of business transactions and provide guidance accordingly.

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Support automation and improvement of tax reporting processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance with internal controls.
  • Prepare internal tax reports for management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • Professional certification: UAE Tax certification /UAE Tax Agent certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in VAT and corporate tax (preferably in a multinational company or tax advisory firm).
  • Strong knowledge of UAE tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax/accounting software ( SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with tax authorities and managing audits.
  • Understanding of transfer pricing and VAT tax concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
