The Public Works Stormwater team is hiring three Utility Technicians to perform regular and recurring installation and maintenance of the city’s vegetated water quality facilities. These positions will assist in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of stormwater and wastewater collection systems.
This is a full-time, non exempt, SEIU classified, and DOT-covered position. Individuals in this position will be subject to random drug screens and breath alcohol tests in accordance with DOT guidelines. There are three vacancies.

Minimum qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, and

Three years of experience in operations, installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of water quality facilities and structures; or

An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position.
Licensing and special requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the city’s driving standards.

Class B Commercia Driver’s License with tank endorsement required within one year of hire.

Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Wastewater Operator Level 1 certification required within 6 months of hire

Ability to pass reference checks and satisfy the requirements of a background check.

Ability to satisfy the requirements of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Wage range: $27.73 - $37.16 hourly
Starting pay rate will be determined based on an analysis of the work history and experience included in the job application. New hires who meet the minimum requirements for the position will start at step one. Higher steps within the posted range may be offered to those who have additional years of experience that are directly related to the position.
