Vehicle Fleet, Small Tool, Inventory, and Procurement Specialist

Tessiers Mechanical Contractors, the Midwest’s premier mechanical contractor, has an immediate fulltime opening for a Vehicle Fleet, Small Tool, Inventory, and Procurement Specialist. This position will help lead most aspects of the company’s vehicle fleet programs (including some DOT activities), HVAC service small tool fleet, inventory processes and controls as well as some limited procurement activities such as purchase order issuance and expense analysis. This position will report to the Operations Leader with a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities of the Vehicle Fleet, Small Tool, Inventory, and Procurement Specialist:

  • Work with operations and service leaders on most aspects of vehicle fleet activities including purchasing, maintenance, limited DOT activities, etc.
  • Oversee purchasing and maintenance of the small tool fleet for all service technicians
  • Review various inventory or material charge-out documents and transactions to ensure proper coding
  • Lead inventory tracking including cycle and year-end counts
  • Limited procurement activities such as purchase order issuance and expense analysis
  • Oversee certain building maintenance duties such as building cleanup, snow removal, lawn maintenance, etc.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma is required
  • 1 to 3 years of construction, small tool, or vehicle fleet experience is highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with field, shop, and admin staff, as well as operational leaders to address and resolve challenges or questions as they arise
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiencies in the Microsoft suite of products and the ability and interest in learning new software
  • Clean driving record and license
  • Always demonstrate a leadership image
