Vendor Development Engineer

Detailed Job Description: (HIGHLIGHT CRITICAL ACTIVITIES)

1. Vendor Identification & Development:

● Source and evaluate potential vendors based on quality, cost, capacity, and delivery timelines.

2. Sourcing & Procurement:

● Obtain quotations, compare proposals, and negotiate commercial terms and lead times.

● Finalize procurement contracts and maintain documentation in accordance with company policy.

● Ensure timely procurement of materials, components, and services as per project and production needs.

3. Cost Optimization:

● Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing and value engineering.

● Analyze market trends, raw material pricing, and supply chain risks to ensure strategic procurement decisions.

4. Coordination & Documentation:

● Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Design, Quality, Production, and Finance to align procurement with project goals.

● Maintain and update vendor master database, rate contracts, and purchase orders in ERP systems.

5. Compliance & Quality:

● Ensure all sourcing activities meet internal quality and regulatory standards.

● Collaborate with the Quality team to resolve vendor-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Knowledge:

1. B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field

2. 2–4 years of relevant experience in vendor development, sourcing, or procurement in a manufacturing setup

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹313,042.49 - ₹800,000.00 per year
