- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans effectively with clients and team members.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring minimal stress and discomfort during examinations or procedures.
- Maintain detailed medical records, documenting all treatments, observations, and laboratory results accurately.
- Assist in laboratory testing procedures such as blood work, urinalysis, or other diagnostic tests to support clinical decisions.
- Apply aseptic techniques diligently during surgeries and invasive procedures to prevent infections.
- Provide pet grooming advice and support animal husbandry practices to promote overall health.
- Use animal physiology and anatomy knowledge to interpret clinical signs and plan appropriate interventions.
- Handle equine patients when required, demonstrating specialized skills for large animal care.
Qualifications
- Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensing or certification to practice veterinary medicine.
- Proven veterinary experience with a strong foundation in animal care, handling, and medical procedures.
- Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable for managing urgent cases effectively.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques for various species including dogs, cats, horses, and exotic animals.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, pet grooming, and laboratory diagnostics.
- Ability to handle animals confidently using proper animal husbandry practices; experience with dog handling is preferred.
