We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant who values teamwork, accountability, professional growth, and high-quality patient care.

Position Overview

The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and technicians in delivering efficient, compassionate, fear-free care. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Obtain patient history and maintain accurate, paperless medical records (Avimark)
• Perform nursing duties including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, injections, diagnostics, and medication administration
• Calculate and administer medications as directed
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care, diagnostic results, and treatment plans
• Provide client education and reinforce preventive care recommendations
• Practice Fear Free, low-stress patient handling techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation and medical transcription
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education

Qualifications

• Fear Free Certification preferred or willingness to pursue
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented

Schedule

• Day shifts
• Rotating weekends

Requirements

• Ability to commute to Longmont, CO 80504 (Required)
• Ability to relocate before starting work (Required)
