Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to support veterinarians in providing excellent care to animals. The ideal candidate will assist in medical, surgical, and preventive procedures, ensuring patient welfare and client education. This role includes supporting clinical operations, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and assisting in diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, anesthesia, and emergency care.

Prepare animals for examination, treatment, and surgery.

Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinarian supervision.

Monitor patients’ vital signs, behavior, and recovery during and after procedures.

Maintain accurate medical records and update treatment logs.

Provide post-operative care and guidance to owners on animal recovery and care.

Assist in diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, lab tests, and sample collection.

Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment.

Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and general animal health.
Follow clinic protocols for infection control, safety, and animal welfare standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing / Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution.

Eligible for or holding QCHP license for veterinary nurses (if applicable).

Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience in veterinary care, preferably small animals or mixed practice.

Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical procedures.

Ability to work with surgical, diagnostic, and emergency procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
Commitment to animal welfare, safety, and ethical practices.
Desirable Skills:

Experience in ICU or emergency veterinary care.

Familiarity with veterinary software and record-keeping systems.
Knowledge of exotic animals, livestock, or equine care.
QCHP Eligibility Notes:

Must hold a recognized veterinary nursing diploma or degree.

License application requires verification of education, training, and professional standing.

Relevant clinical experience is an advantage for faster licensure.
