Vice President

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a nonprofit corporate Vice President. As a Vice President, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization towards achieving its mission and objectives. This position requires a heart for serving the worldwide community, including, local, state, national, and international communities. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization, driving economic and business development initiatives, and leading operational excellence. This leadership position requires the ability to lead and advise generally on all aspects of the nonprofit business and serve as an acting president and acting chair of the board of directors as needed and assigned or delegated by the president of the organization.

Work Location

Baton Rouge, LA, USA and/or remote. Interviews may be done virtually or in person. The job may be done initially, began, temporarily, in person only, or virtually only, or hybrid, as may be approved at the time of hire, until further notice.

Required Qualifications

Master's or professional degree or higher in any field, or in lieu of degree, equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, propose, support, and implement strategic plans that align with the company’s vision and goals.
  • Oversee business development efforts to identify new market opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  • Lead and mentor company executive departmental heads and executive cabinet level heads to foster a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Help setting an overrall budget, and oversee profit and loss statements to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to program development
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on key projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at the events of different applicable industires, rallies, conferences, business engaged mission meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Help fundraise for new investors, donors, and grants.
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate and also to travel internationally to American allied countries and/or otherwise countries safe, legal, approved to go to with security, on company business.
  • Serve as acting corporate president and acting chair of the board of directors as needed and assigned or delegated by the president of the organization and perform related duties as assigned or delegated by the president of the organization and/or as established by the board of directors.
  • Be willing to register as a government lobbyist and do community organizing/government lobbyist and political advocacy type of work.

Skills

  • Management skills with the ability to oversee multiple different people and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Able to help establish and maintain business development, relationships, fundraising, and sales strategies that drive growth.
  • Able to develop leadership skills and supervise diverse teams.
  • Ability to strategically plan, propose, review, and execute for long-term and short-term efficiency, including, generally for all aspects of the business, for overall organizational success.
  • Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and externally.
  • Willingness and ability to share views and opinions on different items brought before the board of directors and related, publicly, as needed to carry out the business of the organization.
  • Ability to politically advocate and lobby government.

Organizational Background

The World Action Network is nonprofit, human rights organization, for primarily the promotion of social welfare. We seek to primarily promote social welfare in seeking business capital for persons in need to do good in starting, growing, and/or expanding a business including creating jobs- especially through the World Investment Fund, charitable organization we are affiliated with primarily for economic development, and also address issues affecting life well-being, through government lobbying, advocacy, proposing new laws and/or changes to laws, consulting, advising, think tanking, organizing, and some political activity.

Pay: From $1.00 per year
