Addison Group is working with our client, a leading nonprofit research and policy organization, to identify a strategic Human Resources leader who can drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, and HR innovation across multiple divisions and business functions.


Job Description:

The Vice President of Human Resources is a senior executive role responsible for leading the overall HR strategy, providing counsel to senior leadership, and ensuring alignment between talent programs and organizational goals. This individual will oversee HR operations, talent acquisition, leadership development, compliance, and total rewards, while serving as a trusted advisor on complex workforce issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership on organizational design, succession planning, and workforce alignment.
  • Guide executive leaders on employee engagement, culture, and change management strategies.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
  • Direct HR operations including employee relations, compliance, and system improvements.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to maintain competitiveness.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing HR team to deliver operational excellence.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (advanced HR certification preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 7+ years managing teams.
  • Strong background in talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to advise and influence executive leadership.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading HR functions in complex or mission-driven organizations.


Additional Details:

  • Full-time, exempt executive role.
  • Hybrid schedule with in-office presence required in Washington, DC.
  • Reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and CHRO.
