Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President to lead our integration engineering efforts, designing and maintaining Oaktree's service and integration layer. The successful candidate will be responsible for connecting enterprise applications and data platforms through APIs, event-driven systems, and secure file-based transfers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API design and development, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native integration. They will be able to provide technical leadership, design reusable frameworks, and enable real-time, governed data flows that power trading, finance, compliance, and analytics platforms.
Responsibilities include
  • Design, build, and maintain Oaktree's integration layer, including APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure file-based data exchanges
  • Develop and manage API gateways to ensure scalability, governance, throttling, and secure external/internal connectivity
  • Enable real-time and batch integrations across enterprise and investment platforms, including OMS, Geneva/GWI, Workday, Salesforce, and treasury/finance systems
  • Implement event-driven architecture using Azure EventBus/Event Hubs, Kafka, or equivalent pub/sub systems
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage in all integrations to support downstream reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases
  • Embed security and compliance into integrations, including encryption, authentication, logging, and auditability
  • Collaborate with architects, automation engineers, and business systems owners to design reusable integration frameworks and patterns
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior engineers, ensuring best practices in integration development and support
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in integration engineering, with a focus on API design and development, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native integration
  • Expertise in API design and development, including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and microservices-based integration patterns
  • Hands-on experience with API management platforms, including Azure API Management, Apigee, Kong, or Mulesoft
  • Event-driven architecture knowledge, including Azure EventBus/Event Hubs, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent pub/sub systems
  • Proficiency in secure file-based integrations, including SFTP, managed file transfer, and batch data exchange
  • Strong coding/scripting skills, including Python, .NET, or Java for integration services, automation, and custom connectors
  • Cloud-native integration skills, including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, containerization, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of data governance and lineage, including metadata management, monitoring, and observability for integration flows
  • Security-first mindset, with expertise in OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS, encryption at rest/in transit, and zero-trust integration principles
  • Experience in financial services or asset management ecosystems, integrating OMS, ABOR/IBOR, risk/compliance platforms, HR/ERP, and CRM systems
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure SQL Database, Azure Fabric, and Azure Lakehouse
  • Knowledge of alternative asset management industry trends and regulatory requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) preferred
