This is not a theoretical AI strategy position. It is a build-and-deliver leadership role for someone who combines strategic vision with strong tactical execution.

The VP of AI will design and execute a company-wide automation roadmap focused on measurable outcomes:

  • Reducing manual touches across claims and prior authorization workflows
  • Increasing straight-through processing and operational throughput
  • Improving call center productivity through AI agent-assist tools
  • Accelerating turnaround times while maintaining compliance
  • Eliminating bottlenecks that limit scalability

Scope of Leadership

This executive will collaborate across IT Development, Claims, Operations, Provider Relations, Customer Service, Product, and Legal/Compliance to deploy AI-driven automation across multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and leading the enterprise AI and automation strategy
  • Deploying LLM-driven workflows, RPA solutions, intelligent document processing, and AI copilots
  • Integrating automation capabilities into a proprietary internal platform
  • Redesigning high-volume operational workflows with an AI-first mindset
  • Establishing KPIs and real-time dashboards to measure ROI and performance improvement
  • Building and leading a high-performing automation team
  • Driving adoption and change management across business units

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience leading automation, AI implementation, or workflow transformation
  • Experience within healthcare, health insurance, managed care, or TPA environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with RPA platforms, AI copilots, LLM-driven automation, and intelligent document processing
  • Deep understanding of claims operations, prior authorization workflows, EDI, and provider data environments
  • A track record of translating automation initiatives into measurable productivity and financial gains

This opportunity is best suited for a leader who has thrived in mid-sized or growth-stage environments — someone comfortable operating without layers of bureaucracy and capable of moving initiatives from strategy through deployment. The organization is at a pivotal growth stage. AI is viewed not as an experiment, but as a strategic lever to increase scale, efficiency, and competitive differentiation. The VP of AI will sit at the center of that transformation. For the right leader, this represents an opportunity to leave a lasting operational and financial imprint on a growing healthcare business.
