Overview of the Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Engineering to lead the next generation of infrastructure powering global-scale streaming, media, and AI-driven technology platforms. As the leader of this division, you will oversee engineering engineering groups developing distributed systems that support billions of daily requests, power intelligent content delivery, and enable seamless creator and viewer experiences around the world.

This role requires both strategic vision and technical depth. You will define roadmaps for hyper-scalable infrastructure, lead engineering excellence across diverse engineering groups, and ensure our technology platforms set the industry standard for resilience, performance, and innovation. You will collaborate with product, data, and research leaders to deliver technology platforms that are as transformative for creators as they are for consumers.

Key Responsibilities

• Set Technical Strategy: Define the vision for next-generation infrastructure in areas such as distributed compute, storage, networking, and AI/ML technology platforms.
• Guide World-Class Teams: Build, scale, and mentor engineering organizations across multiple geographies and disciplines.
• Deliver at Scale: Oversee systems designed for billions of users, ensuring low latency, high availability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive Innovation: Partner with R&D to bring advanced technologies (edge computing, generative AI, adaptive streaming) into production.
• Foster Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices in reliability, security, observability, and developer productivity.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product, design, and operations leaders to align technical investments with business and user needs.
• Represent the Division: Serve as the external and internal voice of infrastructure innovation, influencing industry direction and partnerships.
  
  

Experience and Background

• Guideership Experience: 15+ years in engineering leadership roles, including leading organizations of 100+ engineers.
• Technical Expertise: Deep background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, streaming/media pipelines, or large-scale AI/ML technology platforms.
• Operational Excellence: Proven success delivering mission-critical technology platforms with high uptime, low latency, and global reach.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to define multi-year technical roadmaps and align them with company strategy and customer needs.
• Talent Development: Strong track record of recruiting, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering engineering groups.
• Collaborative Influence: Skilled at driving alignment across executive stakeholders, product leaders, and partner engineering groups.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
