Job Title: Vice President of Operations & Performance
Reports To: Integrator
Location: Hybrid - Within an approved employment state
FLSA Classification: Full-Time/Exempt
Objective of the Position
As a vital member of AMA’s executive leadership team, the Vice President of Operations drives the strategic direction, execution, and impact of our national program management portfolio. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of Directors and Managers who oversee complex, multi-jurisdictional projects shaping the future of affordable housing.
You will champion operational excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction while building systems that scale and cultures that create raving fans — both internally and externally. Your leadership will strengthen AMA’s national reputation as the go-to partner for responsive, measurable, and transformative affordable housing consulting.
Success in this role requires strategic agility, deep knowledge of subsidized housing, strong political acumen, and exceptional operational discipline. The ideal candidate is a world-class operator who excels at leading people, managing processes, and turning complexity into clarity while driving measurable results.

Experience
Seasoned Business Executive and Operator
Over 15 years of executive leadership experience across startups, growth-stage enterprises, and consulting environments. Demonstrates a proven ability to build organizations from the ground up, scale operations, and lead high-impact transformations across complex, multi-stakeholder settings. Recognized for balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
Strategic Advisory Leadership
Brings experience with executive and strategic advisor supporting multiple organizations. Skilled in translating strategy into structure through disciplined operating systems, executive alignment, and data-driven accountability frameworks. Experienced in applying EOS and other performance management methodologies to achieve organizational clarity and measurable results.
P&L Leadership and Growth Management
Extensive experience with full P&L ownership across multiple business units and contracts, consistently delivering margin improvement, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. Expert at converting strategic objectives into financial performance and building fiscal discipline across teams and portfolios.
Corporate Strategy and Organizational Transformation
Proven success leading integrations, restructures, and organizational turnarounds. Adept at negotiating complex contracts, partnerships, and transactions while protecting long-term enterprise value. Known for implementing systems that align people, processes, and profit to achieve both operational stability and strategic expansion.
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable operational systems, SOPs, and KPI frameworks that drive quality, efficiency, and accountability. Experienced in developing performance dashboards, automating workflows, and leading change initiatives that improve delivery outcomes and client satisfaction.
Cross-Sector and Public-Sector Insight
Possesses a well-rounded background spanning the private, nonprofit, and public sectors, including exposure to government operations and affordable housing policy. Brings a strong understanding of compliance, governance, and program performance within regulated environments.

Travel Requirement
Extensive travel required based on project assignments and client locations.
