Job Summary:

The Vice President of Procurement and Logistics is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's global procurement and logistics strategy. This individual will lead all aspects of sourcing, purchasing, contract negotiation, supply chain management, and distribution. The VP will be a key player in optimizing operational efficiency, reducing costs, mitigating risks, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in supply chain management, a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, and a strong ability to drive change and innovation

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision:

  • Develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive procurement and logistics strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives, growth plans, and financial targets.
  • Lead the transformation of the procurement and logistics functions from a transactional focus to a strategic, value-added business partner.
  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities for innovation, and implement best-in-class processes and technologies to optimize the supply chain.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, Sales, R&D) to understand their needs and support their objectives.

Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Oversee all procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing.
  • Develop and manage a robust supplier relationship management (SRM) program to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply base.
  • Establish clear metrics and KPIs for supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Lead complex negotiations for large-scale contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risk.
  • Implement e-procurement systems and other technologies to streamline the purchasing process and improve efficiency.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage all aspects of global logistics, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Optimize the company's global supply chain network to improve efficiency, reduce transit times, and lower costs.
  • Oversee inventory planning and management to balance supply with demand and minimize carrying costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all domestic and international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  • Implement and manage a robust risk management program to mitigate supply chain disruptions (e.g., natural disasters, geopolitical events, supplier failures).

Financial & Operational Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the procurement and logistics departments.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the supply chain.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement and logistics operations.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement and logistics professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, and logistics management, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (Director or VP level).
  • Proven track record of success in leading a complex, global procurement and logistics function.
  • Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, inventory management, and global trade regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), procurement software, and logistics management platforms.
  • Certification from a relevant professional organization (e.g., CSCMP, ISM, APICS) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
