As the Vice President of QA, you will be responsible for leading our quality assurance efforts, driving excellence in software testing, and enhancing our QA strategy. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall quality standards and ensuring the delivery of exceptional software products. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic thinking.


Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the QA team, aligning it with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to define and execute the overall QA strategy and roadmap.
  • Act as a key influencer and advocate for QA within the leadership team, promoting a quality-centric culture.

Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a strong understanding of engineering principles and software development methodologies to effectively collaborate with engineering and product teams.
  • Lead by example, actively participating in engineering and product exchanges, contributing to technical discussions, and providing valuable insights.

Quality Assurance Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA processes, methodologies, and best practices that ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding servicing and compliance issues as they relate to quality testing
  • Drive the continuous improvement of QA practices, tools, and frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage the overall QA resource allocation, and staffing requirements to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

Automation Testing:

  • Possess deep expertise in automating testing for API and complex UI environments.
  • Lead the effort to strategically automate testing processes, including the selection and implementation of appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Define and maintain test automation standards, guidelines, and frameworks to drive consistent and efficient testing practices.

Team Development and Mentoring:

  • Build and lead a high-performing QA team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, performance and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members, helping them develop their technical skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Run lean by conducting regular validations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to ensure individual and team success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the QA domain, ideally as a Director or Vice President of QA.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software engineering and testing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in automating testing for API and complex UI environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, testing frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving quality initiatives and delivering high quality software products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of SPIRA, JIRA and Selenium are a plus
