About the Role

An established organization in the food production and packaging sector is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Sales to lead a high-performing sales organization. This executive will drive strategic growth initiatives, strengthen customer relationships, and oversee the execution of sales strategies across diverse markets. The ideal leader brings a blend of strategic foresight, operational discipline, and a history of building successful sales teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Develop Sales Teams: Guide inside and outside sales teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Drive Business Growth: Identify emerging opportunities, expand product presence, and build strong market positioning.
  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop long-term sales plans aligned with organizational goals and evolving market conditions.
  • Market Expansion: Deepen existing customer relationships while identifying new channels and market segments.
  • Performance Optimization: Establish KPIs, analyze sales data, and ensure teams consistently meet or exceed targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, operations, and product teams to support successful sales execution.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key buyers and strategic partners.
  • Travel: Regular travel required to support teams, cultivate business opportunities, and engage with customers across multiple locations.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years in senior-level sales leadership, ideally within food production, consumer goods, distribution, or packaged products industries.
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, forecasting, and market analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop successful sales teams.
  • Advanced analytical skills supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and executive‑level presentation abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.


Preferred Experience

  • Leading multi-state or national sales territories.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific trends in food production, distribution, or packaging.
  • Established relationships within retail, wholesale, or foodservice distribution networks.

  • Competitive base salary plus performance incentives (range typically $150,000–$200,000 DOE).
