Wellspring is looking for a Victim & Career Development Advocate to join our team in Saratoga Springs.
This unique role combines trauma-informed advocacy with career coaching—helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault find safe, sustainable careers that provide a living wage.

✔ Support survivors with crisis intervention, safety planning & advocacy
✔ Guide clients through job readiness, skill-building & career planning
✔ Partner with local employers & training programs to connect clients with opportunities

EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Victim Advocate - Career Development
Overview: Victim advocates assist with the provision of a wide range of services to victims and families of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our goals include helping victims achieve safety and stability by providing information and education regarding the dynamics of domestic violence and/or sexual assault as well as their rights and options related to emergency and community-based services. Victim advocates serve as a link to all types of services that victims need and advocate for the delivery of those services.
Victim advocates assigned to our non-residential services are responsible for providing direct services to victims of domestic violence. This includes crisis intervention, short-term issue-oriented counseling, and comprehensive case management services. Victim advocates also assist victims in obtaining the services available to them within the civil and criminal legal system. Staff primarily assigned to non-residential victim advocacy report to the client services manager.
The workforce career development advocate helps connect people to meaningful employment working with local employers to support survivors on their career journeys,
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ of experience in social work or related field preferred, however any combination of education, work experience or life experience may be considered. Experience working with victims, especially victims of domestic violence, dating abuse, sexual assault, trafficking or elder abuse preferred.
2. Able to lift 40 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and perform basic office tasks.
3. Maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a reliable means of transportation..
