Position Summary
The Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video content for digital platforms, marketing campaigns, events, and internal communication. The role involves editing raw footage, adding effects, enhancing audio, and ensuring all videos align with organizational branding and storytelling requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Editing & Production
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging video content.
- Add transitions, effects, graphics, subtitles, and sound design.
- Ensure consistent color grading, audio balancing, and pacing across all videos.
- Maintain high-quality editing standards for all media content.
2. Content Creation
- Assist in planning and preparing storyboards, shot lists, and scripts.
- Collaborate with the media team to develop creative video concepts.
- Create short-form content (reels, TikToks, highlights) and long-form videos (documentaries, interviews, event coverage).
3. Filming & On-Ground Support
- Capture video footage during events, field visits, and interviews.
- Operate cameras, microphones, lighting, and related equipment.
- Provide technical setup and support during shoots.
4. Post-Production Management
- Organize raw footage, maintain project files, and manage backups.
- Store, archive, and categorize all media assets systematically.
- Ensure timely delivery of all projects according to deadlines.
5. Branding & Quality Control
- Ensure all videos follow brand guidelines and messaging.
- Review content for accuracy, clarity, and visual consistency.
- Make revisions as required by the media or marketing team.
6. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with designers, social media teams, and project leads.
- Coordinate with departments for content requirements and approvals.
- Present drafts, incorporate feedback, and finalize videos.
7. Technical Proficiency
- Use professional tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
- Keep up with the latest editing techniques, trends, and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Film Production, Mass Communication, or related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating editing skills and creativity.
- Hands-on experience with professional editing software.
- Basic knowledge of cinematography and sound recording.
