Job Summary
The Video Editor is part of the 522 Post-Production Team, collaborating with Creative Directors and Producers to create impactful videos and campaigns for both 522 clients and internal initiatives.

Editors lead projects through post-production, from rough cut to final delivery, incorporating team and client feedback while maintaining organized Premiere project files so any editor can pick up a project seamlessly.

They stick to project timelines and budgeted hours, but detect and flag changes before they become larger issues. Editors finalize videos with basic color correction, audio mixing, and occasional simple motion graphics (After Effects preferred).

Editors maintain strict media organization, coordinate drives with freelancers, and help improve post-production workflows.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Video Editing

• Work closely with Opps/Producers/CCO to understand daily editing priorities
• Build projects that are sustainable, well-organized and easily passed to other editors
• Communicate with clients and producers to address feedback with accuracy and precision
• Ensure that video deliverables are completed on-time and without errors
• Develop color correction and audio mix in the final stages of post-production
• Create simple motion graphics such as lower thirds, and other simple text-based animations as needed
• Handle complex workflows with ease, including multicam sequences, proxy editing and non-traditional resolutions and codecs

Creative Video Editing

• Collaborate with Creative Directors to understand project objectives and story elements, assisting with pre-production when needed
• Craft raw footage into clear, compelling narratives
• Provide peer-review feedback to other full-time and freelance video editors
• Develop videos to promote 522 Productions in partnership with Marketing

Media Management & Department Operations

• Oversee the ingestion of digital media into post-production system and maintain data backups
• Oversee the archiving of completed projects for long-term storage
• Prepare editing stations for freelance video editors
• Troubleshoot technical issues with editing stations and the Adobe Creative Suite
• Seek out new tools and processes to improve post-production efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in documentary or commercial video editing
• Bachelor's Degree in Film, Broadcast Journalism, or equivalent
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, familiarity with Adobe After Effects
• Ability to stay organized and on-deadline
• Willingness to learn and accept creative feedback
• Interest in developing a long-term career at a creative video agency

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
