We are seeking a highly skilled Video Editor with 5+ years of professional experience in long-form video editing. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of visual storytelling, technical finesse, and a passion for making a difference through content. As a Video Editor at Source Code Academia, you will oversee the editing process from raw footage to final output, collaborating with instructional designers and educators to ensure our storytelling aligns with our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and enhance long-form video content: Produce polished videos for YouTube episodes, documentaries, interviews, online courses, and promotional materials.
• Add motion graphics and visual effects: Create dynamic animations, transitions, and visual effects to bring stories to life and engage viewers.
• Advanced post-production: Perform color correction, sound mixing, and sound design to ensure a high-quality, platform-ready final product.
• Collaborate on storytelling: Work closely with the creative team to shape narrative direction, maintain brand consistency, and improve visual flow.
• Asset and project management: Organize and manage media assets and project files efficiently across multiple concurrent projects.
• Content optimization: Adapt and optimize video content for multi-platform distribution (YouTube, social media, online learning), ensuring each format looks and sounds its best.
• Stay current: Research and apply emerging video trends, editing tools, and techniques to keep our content fresh and innovative.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on video editing experience with long-form content (e.g., full-length episodes, documentaries, or series).
• Software Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro is required.
• Editing & Post-Production: Strong skills in advanced editing techniques, color grading, and sound mixing/design.
• Motion Graphics & Storytelling: Ability to create engaging motion graphics and compelling visual narratives.
• Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing examples of long-form video projects and storytelling ability (required).
• Creativity: Excellent narrative instincts and the ability to visualize and execute story arcs.
• Bonus Skills (nice-to-have): Experience with 3D animation, VFX integration, and livestream video production.
