What You’ll Do
- Edit video content from concept to final cut for YouTube, social media (Reels, TikTok, X, Threads), and brand campaigns.
- Craft story arcs that are engaging, emotive, and platform-specific—ranging from punchy 15-second reels to long-form YouTube documentaries.
- Partner with creative leads, copywriters, influencers, and strategy teams to develop visuals that support brand narratives and campaign KPIs.
- Lead post-production, including motion graphics, sound design, color correction, and versioning for multiple formats.
- Manage timelines, revisions, and delivery deadlines like a pro—even under tight turnarounds.
- Support creative ideation and storyboarding with mockups and rough cuts.
- Collaborate with social media managers to iterate content based on performance metrics and audience feedback.
- Use YouTube Studio and analytics tools to optimize thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and formats for maximum reach and engagement.
- Leverage AI tools where appropriate to speed up production without compromising creative quality.
- Participate in creative briefings and, when needed, present to clients or stakeholders to walk through visual choices and direction.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of video editing and motion design experience, ideally in an agency, content marketing, or freelance environment.
- Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and optionally Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or Descript.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and emotion-driven editing that performs well across channels.
- Proven experience editing for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital-first platforms.
- Comfort with YouTube optimization and analytics.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a client-facing or freelance-style environment.
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced tools (e.g., Runway, Topaz AI, Adobe Sensei) is a major plus.
- Bonus: Experience working in advocacy, nonprofit, or storytelling that centers equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in multilingual editing or subtitling workflows.
- Experience with livestream content, podcast visuals, and visual-first website content.
- Photography skills and light field production experience.
- Familiarity with social listening and analytics tools.
