Video Editor/Motion Designer – Kansas City, MO

JOB PURPOSE

The Video Editor/Motion Designer plays a significant role in the editing, motion graphics, and overall postproduction needs of each project Trozzolo produces. This position has the opportunity to be involved in the preproduction and production processes, but the majority of their work will be in the editing and finalization of video work for a variety of platforms (social, web, TV, etc.).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

A four-year college degree in advertising, film, journalism, fine art, or related major is required. A minimum of five years’ experience in postproduction (basic understanding of on-set production also preferred). A website and/or reel of work is required for consideration.

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

Thoroughly understands editing and the postproduction process as well as final delivery of master files. An advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere is required. An understanding of DaVinci Resolve is a plus but not required. A working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator is preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates with the rest of the video, creative and account teams on video post execution.
• Uses their creative intuition and editing skills to plus the work while still respecting the original creative concept/storyboards/scripts.
• Coordinates with the producer to create realistic project timelines and delivers material on schedule. Communicates clearly on project status throughout the process.
• Adheres to project budgets both big and small with an understanding of what is necessary to deliver the ideal final result.
• Effectively organizes raw material and projects on the server. Must be detail-oriented to properly maintain a functional editing system.
• Edits both independently and in scheduled live sessions with creatives and/or clients.
• Receptively executes client & internal feedback but also suggests recommendations to create a stronger finished product.
• Actively can work as both a leader and a responsive teammate on projects to create high-end content for social media, web, TV and other platforms.
• Stays aware and initiates updates to techniques and technology in postproduction.
• Attends training courses, film festivals, continuing education and other seminars when possible. Generally has a passion for their craft and the overall industry.
