Nelson Media Company is seeking a motivated and dependable Video Production Assistant to join our growing media team.

This is a hands-on, field-based position ideal for someone interested in learning the video production industry from the ground up. We are willing to train the right candidate on equipment, technology, and production workflow.

Position Overview

The Video Production Assistant will work alongside our production team on filming days and assist with behind-the-scenes coordination, equipment setup, and social media support.

This role is ideal for:

• Someone interested in a field-based “production secretary” role
• A student or young professional wanting to learn the video industry
• An organized individual who enjoys technology and creative work
• Someone looking for long-term growth in media production

No prior professional experience is required — we will train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with camera, lighting, and audio setup on filming days
• Help transport and organize production equipment
• Learn and assist with camera operation and basic audio monitoring
• Support social media posting and behind-the-scenes content
• Coordinate schedules and help manage production day logistics
• Assist with client communication and on-site organization
• Learn editing workflow and post-production processes
• Maintain and organize production gear

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills
• Willingness to learn new technology
• Professional attitude and reliability
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Bonus (not required):

• Interest in photography or video
• Experience with social media platforms
• Basic familiarity with cameras or editing software
