We’re looking to employ a Videographer / Editor to work on site at a Government location to produce innovative video content for a diverse audience. If you know how to skillfully use video to inspire action, shape perceptions, train audiences, and initiate change… then please continue reading.

You’re the right person if you’re a creative and technically skilled professional who can conceptualize, execute, and deliver high-quality video projects. You’ll work collaboratively with a variety of departments to produce content that both educates and engages audiences across digital and in-person platforms. Ideally, you possess a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and strong project management skills that you’ll leverage to support the organization's mission of delivering impactful visual communications.

Job Details:

  • Location: Primarily at the client's site in Washington DC

Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week, with occasional night or weekend hours based on the client projects or events

  • Day-to-Day: The Videographer / Editor will be responsible for managing video projects from initial concept through to final production. This includes working closely with team members to develop original content, executing on-location shoots, and handling post-production tasks such as editing and sound design. The role also involves supporting live multi-camera events and creating virtual classes or breakout sessions. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of video production techniques, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Pre-Production: collaborate in the development of original content and creative strategy, and assist in the creation of in-person and virtual classes/breakout sessions
  • Production: Shoot, light, and direct on-location shoots and film live multi-camera events for on-location streaming or digital distribution
  • Post Production: Execute technical aspects such as color correction, media management, sound design, simple graphics, etc.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in communications, graphic design, video production, digital communications, or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience editing, creating, and maintaining digital and online video content
  • Experience posting, linking, and embedding content online including using YouTube
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
  • Skill/experience with graphic design and animation tools preferred
  • Comfortable making multiple rounds of editing revisions under tight turnarounds
  • Excellent understanding of camera systems and be able to film a variety of different styles of video content
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Complex problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with close attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Description of Work:

  • The Videographer will be responsible for working as part of a team, and the applicant will be responsible for assisting in the conceptualization and execution of video projects throughout all phases of production. Duties include:
  • Collaborating internally to develop original content and creative strategy
  • Shooting, lighting, capturing audio, and directing on-location shoots for a diverse range of video content
  • Handling technical aspects such as color correction, soundtrack selection, maintaining and organizing a database of video/media assets, sound design, and other components of the post-production process
  • Assisting in the creation of in-person and virtual classes/breakout sessions/etc.
  • Filming live multi-camera events for on-location streaming or digital distribution
