Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals and professionals across various sectors, including healthcare, legal, medical, and education. In this role, the Interpreter will ensure that all parties understand each other clearly, providing essential language services in diverse settings. The role requires proficiency in multiple languages, strong knowledge of terminology specific to healthcare, legal, and educational fields, and an understanding of relevant regulations such as HIPAA in healthcare. The Interpreter will play a crucial role in enhancing communication, supporting patient care, and contributing to social work initiatives.

Duties

Interpret conversations between individuals and professionals accurately and effectively in healthcare, legal, medical, and educational settings.
Translate documents, records, and legal materials as needed to ensure clear understanding.
Assist in the communication of complex terminology, ensuring that individuals comprehend critical information in healthcare, legal, and educational contexts.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations (healthcare) and relevant privacy laws while handling sensitive information.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, legal professionals, educators, and social workers to offer comprehensive support and guidance.
Provide interpreting services for various types of appointments, including medical consultations, legal hearings, and educational meetings.

Experience

Proficiency in multiple languages; bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly preferred.
Previous experience as an interpreter, particularly in medical, legal, or educational environments, is advantageous.
Familiarity with specific terminology in healthcare, legal, and educational fields.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly in diverse settings.
Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural nuances related to communication.
Knowledge of regulations and confidentiality standards in various sectors (e.g., HIPAA in healthcare, confidentiality in legal settings).
