Vivint Summer Installation Technician (Smart Home Pro)

We are rapidly expanding and hiring 15–20 Summer Installation Technicians for our upcoming season. Locations for summer deployment are announced in January; the role requires full relocation for the summer months.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot smart home and security systems
  • Turn customer interactions into connections by explaining system features and ensuring user confidence
  • Perform walkthroughs and design customized equipment layouts for each home
  • Run wires, mount indoor and outdoor devices, and use ladders and power tools safely
  • Manage inventory and equipment like a business owner
  • Upsell or recommend additional products when appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with a team of technicians and report to your team lead
  • Represent Vivint with professionalism, positivity, and strong customer service

Your schedule:

On call between 10 a.m. and midnight during the busy season, installing systems as assignments come in.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Valid driver’s license + reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to relocate for the summer
  • Ability to lift 30–50 pounds and safely climb ladders
  • Basic competency with hand and power tools
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

Preferred

  • High energy, ambition, and a go-getter mindset
  • Desire for personal development and long-term career growth
  • Experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage, or mechanical work (not required)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and challenges

Season Timeline

  • Start: Mid-March to early April
  • End: Late October
  • Location: Assigned in January (full travel/relocation required)

  • Produce increased install volume (earning more each week)
  • Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and strong customer rapport
  • Become reliable contributors to team culture
