VNA & Reach Truck Driver

Job Objective

The primary goal of this role is to ensure the efficient, safe, and accurate movement of goods within the warehouse. The operator will be responsible for high-bay stacking, inventory replenishment, and order picking using specialized MHE (Material Handling Equipment), specifically VNA and Reach trucks, to optimize storage capacity and workflow.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • MHE Operation: Safely and proficiently operate VNA and Reach trucks to move, stack, and retrieve pallets from high-level racking systems.
  • Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Assist in unloading containers and placing incoming stock into designated locations while ensuring the accuracy of SKU placement.
  • Order Fulfillment: Execute picking lists accurately and timely to meet daily dispatch schedules and customer requirements.
  • Inventory Integrity: Perform regular cycle counts and stock checks; report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct daily pre-operational safety inspections on equipment (batteries, hydraulics, tires) and report any maintenance needs immediately.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S standards and health and safety (HSE) regulations to prevent accidents.
  • System Documentation: Use handheld scanners (RF guns) or manual logs to record all stock movements accurately within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Qualifications

  • Certification: Valid and current licenses/certificates for VNA and Reach Truck operation are mandatory.
  • Experience: Proven experience operating MHE in a high-volume distribution center or industrial warehouse environment.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work at heights and perform manual handling tasks as required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; basic numerical and literacy skills are essential for order processing.

  • Spatial Awareness: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and the ability to maneuver large equipment in confined spaces.
  • Safety Mindset: A "safety-first" approach with a deep understanding of load weight limits and stability centers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to use RF scanners and basic WMS software.
  • Reliability: Strong punctuality and the ability to work shifts, including weekends or overtime when necessary.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reading SKU codes and shelf locations to minimize picking errors.
