We are seeking a results-driven and technically adept VoIP Engineer with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade VoIP solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SIP trunk configuration, Session Border Controller (SBC) deployment, IP PBX management, and troubleshooting complex VoIP environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage SIP trunks with major service providers, including registration, authentication, and NAT traversal
- Deploy, secure, and maintain Session Border Controllers (SBCs) for call routing, media handling, and NAT traversal
- Install, configure, and manage IP PBX platforms such as Grandstream UCM, Yeastar S-Series, 3CX v20+, and Asterisk FreePBX
- Design and implement call routing logic and dial plans, including digit manipulation, time conditions, and failover rules
- Ensure Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP traffic using traffic shaping, prioritization, and network optimization techniques
- Integrate VoIP systems with PSTN gateways, legacy PBXs, IP phones (Yealink, Cisco, Grandstream), softphones (Zoiper, Bria), and WebRTC solutions
- Conduct deep-dive diagnostics and packet-level analysis using tools such as Wireshark and sngrep
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve VoIP call issues through log analysis, CDRs, and SIP trace interpretation
- Deliver documentation and training to internal IT teams and end-users on VoIP systems and best practices.
Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of SIP, RTP, SRTP, and T.38 (FoIP) protocols.
- 2 - 5 years of experience as an Engineer providing VoIP Solutions.
- Proven experience with IP PBX platforms (Grandstream, Yeastar, 3CX v20+, Asterisk/FreePBX)
- Experience configuring and securing SBCs in a production environment
- Proficiency in dial plan creation, call flow design, and number normalization (E.164 formatting)
- Familiarity with VoIP quality assurance, traffic shaping, and QoS configuration
- Hands-on skills in packet capture and analysis using Wireshark, sngrep, and similar tools.
Preferred/Plus Experience:
- Networking fundamentals including switching, VLANs, NAT, and routing.
- Experience with cloud-based voice platforms such as Avaya Cloud Office and Cisco Webex Calling / CUCM Cloud
- Exposure to VoIP integrations with AWS and Microsoft Azure environments
