About The Affiliated Organization

TimeSlips was founded by Ashoka Fellow Anne Basting to promote meaning and joy in long-term care by training caregivers to engage older adults using creativity and imagination. We have a strong evidence-based (over a dozen studies) that show that our improvisational communication methods improve social connection, mood, and communication for people experiencing dementia AND their caregivers. Loneliness and isolation, depression and failure to thrive plague older adults with dementia and their caregivers alike. Our simple, beautifully designed trainings tap the innate creativity of every caregiver to infuse meaning, joy, and connection in health and social care systems and relationships.

Job Description

TimeSlips is an award-winning nonprofit committed to bringing meaning and joy into the lives of older adults, people living with dementia, and those who care for them. We are launching a major movement—10 Million Moments of Joy & Connection—and we’re seeking a talented social media creator to help tell these stories, amplify our impact, and engage communities who are ready to join us.

Position Overview: We are looking for someone to design and schedule 4–5 posts per week using our existing templates and content library, and select, adapt, and integrate those posts into a monthly e-newsletter. The focus is storytelling, inspiration, and sharing evidence‑based insights about how creativity transforms the experience of aging and dementia care. Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation (Primary)

  • Produce 4–5 high‑quality social media posts per week aligned with campaign themes, using TimeSlips templates and brand guidelines.
  • Create posts across four primary categories: 1. Trainee Testimonials (quotes, short narratives, video clips if available) 2. Moments of Joy from our online collection of trainee-submitted stories 3. “Research Says…” posts translating evidence-based findings into accessible content 4. Shout-outs to trainees, partners, and donors contributing to the 10 Million Moments campaign
  • Select social media content to adapt and integrate into a monthly newsletter, schedule and send.

Scheduling & Publishing

  • Schedule content across platforms (likely Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn).
  • Optimize posting times and formats for audience engagement.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and tone.

Campaign Support

  • Align all content with the overarching campaign narrative of joy, creative engagement, and meaningful connection in late life.
  • Suggest ideas to enhance reach and engagement within our target audiences.

Target Audiences

  • Content should be crafted with resonance toward: Affluent individuals / potential donors with a loved one living with dementia; Care organizations, including senior living communities, memory care programs, and aging services organizations; Family caregivers seeking connection-focused resources; and College and high school educators using creative engagement tools in service-learning courses

Estimated hours required per week: 5

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Demonstrated experience creating social media content for nonprofits, social campaigns, aging services, or related fields.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to simplify complex concepts (including research findings).
  • Familiarity with brand voice, storytelling, and engagement strategy.
  • Ability to work independently, meet weekly posting expectations, and manage deadlines.
  • Experience with Canva and/or similar tools preferred.
  • Comfort interpreting and accurately representing evidence-based findings (training and materials provided).
  • A commitment to the dignity, creativity, and joy of older adults and people living with dementia.
