Volunteer Treasurer (Board of Directors)

About Thirst With Hunger Thirst With Hunger exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equip believers through sound biblical teaching, and cultivate spiritual maturity. As we build our nonprofit governance structure (established May 2025), we are seeking a faithful steward to serve as our Volunteer Treasurer.

Following the biblical model in Acts 6:3, we seek a leader to oversee the financial stewardship of this ministry with integrity and transparency.

Role Overview This is a remote, volunteer leadership position with a three (3) year initial term. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining compliance as we pursue federal 501(c)(3) status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger reconciliation (QuickBooks or similar).
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports (Balance Sheets, Income Statements) for Board meetings.
  • Compliance: Ensure the ministry meets all state and federal filing requirements and IRS nonprofit governance standards.
  • Budgeting: Assist with financial forecasting and internal controls to safeguard charitable resources.
  • Board Participation: Attend board meetings and provide counsel on the financial health and strategic planning of the ministry.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Spiritual Alignment: Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and in full agreement with our Statement of Beliefs (found at thirstwithhunger.com).
  • Professional Expertise: Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or nonprofit finance.
  • Integrity: Must demonstrate high personal integrity and a commitment to strict separation of personal and organizational finances.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Wave, or Excel) and financial reporting.
  • Commitment: Ability to volunteer approximately 1–3 hours per week (varies by month) and attend regular Board meetings.
