Base Salary: $190,000–$220,000
Reports to: Chief Compliance Officer
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with an innovative FinTech organization to hire them a seasoned VP of Compliance to help build, scale, and strengthen the company’s compliance framework. This leader will play a key role in shaping compliance strategy, advising stakeholders, and ensuring the organization meets evolving federal and state regulatory expectations within the consumer lending space.

Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Oversight & Change Management
- Continuously monitor, interpret, and communicate relevant regulatory changes.
- Oversee the implementation of updated requirements across lending products and operations.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, and related federal and state lending regulations.
Compliance Operations & Issue Management
- Lead the identification, documentation, investigation, and resolution of compliance issues.
- Ensure timely remediation and root cause analysis.
Risk Assessment & Governance
- Conduct ongoing compliance, vendor, and new initiative risk assessments.
- Collaborate with Risk and Internal Audit teams to address control gaps and enhance oversight.
Policy Development & Documentation
- Develop, maintain, and communicate compliance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
- Ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements and operational best practices.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Manage and mentor the Compliance team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams on new products, offerings, and process change.
Reporting & Monitoring
- Develop and maintain compliance dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Prepare and deliver reports to senior leadership and regulatory agencies as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA) strongly preferred.
- CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent compliance/risk certification required.
- 10+ years of compliance or risk management experience in financial services, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience with consumer lending products (personal loans, credit cards, installment loans, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state lending regulations and emerging FinTech regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical operational guidance.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a FinTech startup, digital bank, or technology-driven financial institution.
- Familiarity with CFPB, OCC, FDIC, and state regulatory agencies.
- Direct experience leading regulatory exams and responding to regulatory inquiries.
