Position Summary

The VP of Valuations leads the strategic and operational facets of Anchor's appraisal and valuation activities. This position is responsible for driving the implementation, growth, strategy, and daily operations of the company's appraisal functions. Tasked with enhancing and expanding real estate appraisal processes and procedures, the Appraisal Manager ensures the delivery of best-in-class valuation solutions that support Anchor’s lending activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Valuation Operations & Execution

  • Oversee day-to-day valuation operations across RTL, multifamily, and homebuilder segments.

  • Ensure timely, accurate valuation delivery in accordance with internal SLAs.

  • Manage pipeline flow, workload distribution, and operational capacity.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop valuation team members.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs including turn times, revision rates, escalation frequency, and cost per order.

  • Drive accountability through performance management and standardized workflows.

Valuation Escalations & Risk Oversight

  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex or high-risk valuation issues.

  • Review disputes, material variances, and exception scenarios.

  • Provide clear, credit-aligned recommendations to stakeholders.

Appraisal Management Platform (Regorra)

  • Own day-to-day administration and optimization of Regorra.

  • Manage workflow configuration, vendor routing, SLA tracking, and reporting.

  • Implement automation and process improvements.

AMC & Appraiser Management

  • Oversee AMC and appraiser performance including quality, turn times, and coverage.

  • Optimize panel composition across markets.

  • Support cost management and fee benchmarking.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Execute QC protocols including sampling, reconciliation, and consistency checks.

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines.

  • Valuation Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop analytics including appraisal variance tracking and performance scoring.

  • Provide actionable insights to Credit, Underwriting, and Capital Markets.

  • Support development of dashboards and scalable reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Credit, Underwriting, and Production teams to align valuation outputs.

  • Support scenario desk and exception frameworks with valuation inputs.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Support SVP in execution of valuation technology roadmap.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience managing high-volume valuation operations.

  • Strong leadership and vendor management capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of residential, multifamily, and construction valuation.

  • Experience with appraisal platforms (Regorra preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field.

  • 10–15 years of experience in valuation or collateral risk.

  • Experience managing teams and third-party vendor networks.

  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; BI tools preferred.

  • Appraiser certification preferred.

Work Environment
The preference is for this role to be a hybrid position, which requires office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks, CA offices. Remote opportunities are also available to those not located near the area.

Compensation

The base pay for this position is $200,000 - $220,000 a year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
