Salary Range: $190000 per year - $210000 per year


Position Summary:

We are seeking a Vice President of Vendor Management for a senior leadership role, responsible for driving the overall strategy, growth, and operational excellence of the vendor sourcing and management functions within the organization. This position will oversee a diverse, high-performing team focused on expanding the vendor network, optimizing vendor performance, and ensuring alignment with company goals.

The Vice President will collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, and other senior leaders to shape and execute the vendor strategy, fostering relationships that contribute to sustained growth and market competitiveness. This role requires exceptional leadership, advanced strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex business environments with a focus on cost optimization, innovation, and exceptional service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead the overall direction and strategic vision of the Vendor Sourcing & Partnerships function, aligning with the company's long-term objectives and growth targets.
  • Provide executive-level oversight of the vendor sourcing and recruitment teams, ensuring operational excellence, employee development, and a culture of high performance.
  • Serve as a key member of the Operations Support Leadership Team, contributing to organizational strategy, goals, and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee the continued expansion and optimization of the vendor network to support all company services, ensuring vendor availability and competitive pricing, while adapting to evolving market conditions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to assess geographic vendor layout, adjust vendor bases, and leverage vendor relationships to meet changing business needs.
  • Develop and negotiate long-term vendor partnerships and contracts to ensure the best possible financial outcomes for the company, while maintaining service excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across Operations, Finance, and Sales to align vendor strategies with the company’s operational and financial objectives.
  • Partner with the Subcontract Compliance team to assess and mitigate risk by identifying potential concerns.
  • Continue the development and improvement of the company’s elite preferred vendor program to achieve partnership program goals
  • Establish voice of vendor for continuous feedback from the vendor community
  • Work closely with the project scheduling and customer service teams to ensure that the necessary resources are allocated to high-priority accounts and projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance to key stakeholders on vendor performance, service delivery, and vendor-related challenges.
  • Set the standard for performance, efficiency, and service delivery within the vendor sourcing function, continuously improving processes, training programs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure that vendor performance is consistently evaluated, leveraging KPIs and data analytics to drive continuous improvement and optimize vendor efficiency.
  • Oversee regular reviews of vendor contracts, performance assessments, and compliance to identify opportunities for improvement or cost savings.
  • Ensure that vendors receive proper training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of company systems, policies, and processes, including vendor portals, IVR systems, and work order management tools.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all company policies and industry regulations, ensuring that vendors meet the necessary qualifications and operational standards.
  • Provide high-level guidance and mentorship to the vendor sourcing leadership team, developing future leaders and ensuring the effective management of the team.
  • Implement leadership development programs to ensure that all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in an evolving business environment.
  • Foster a positive, solution-oriented, and purposeful culture that prioritizes customer focus, integrity, and collaboration.


Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong background in B2B environments, with a deep understanding of vendor recruitment, sub-contractor management, and service delivery optimization.
  • Sales and/or sub-contractor recruitment experience.
  • Exceptional in contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and vendor relationship management.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Expert contract negotiation, conflict management, and project management proficiency.
  • Strong communicator, including written, interpersonal, active listening, and coaching.
  • Mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Organizational and strategic agility.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management.


Educational Qualifications/Job Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years in senior management roles
  • At least 5 years in a leadership position overseeing vendor sourcing, vendor management, or related functions.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale vendor networks, driving strategic partnerships, and implementing cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
  • Microsoft Office programs to include, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with an emphasis on Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Graphs, etc.)
  • Experience sharing information and reporting out to all levels of an organization
