Job Summary:
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service to restaurant guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Serve orders promptly and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
- Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and address any issues.
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Process payments, handle cash or credit card transactions, and issue receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas and service stations.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
- Upsell additional products when appropriate (e.g., desserts, drinks, specials).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in customer service preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
