Job Summary
The Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The role requires maintaining high standards of hospitality, professionalism, and cleanliness while contributing to the overall success of the Food & Beverage operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Welcome and escort guests to their tables in a courteous and professional manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information regarding food and beverage items.
- Take guest orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen and bar.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and according to hotel standards.
- Attend to guest requests and resolve complaints professionally or refer them to the supervisor when necessary.
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Restaurant Operations
- Prepare dining areas before service, including table setup and cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant and service stations.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently during and after service.
- Ensure all service equipment and utensils are clean and properly maintained.
- Follow hotel standards for food safety and hygiene.
Sales & Upselling
- Promote menu items, daily specials, and hotel promotions.
- Suggest additional food and beverage items to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings and ingredients.
Cash Handling & Billing
- Prepare and present guest bills accurately.
- Process payments according to hotel procedures.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Comply with hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards.
- Report any maintenance, safety, or operational issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
