Overview: We are looking for an experienced WAN L2 Support Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining WAN infrastructure and network systems to ensure high availability and performance. This role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor WAN infrastructure, servers, and communication links using NOC tools and dashboards.
• Detect, analyze, and respond to real-time network alerts, outages, and performance degradation.
• Perform L2-level troubleshooting of network incidents involving routers, switches, firewalls, and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate and escalate complex issues to L3 or vendor support when required.
• Maintain detailed incident logs, RCA reports, and change management documentation.
• Collaborate with ISPs, vendors, and internal IT/network teams for timely resolution.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs and provide proactive updates on open incidents.
• Support scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and implementation activities.
• Generate and review daily/weekly reports on WAN health and performance metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in NOC or WAN/LAN network support roles.
• Strong understanding of WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, IPSec, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
• Good knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios).
• Ability to analyze packet captures and logs for fault isolation.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
