We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Host/Server to join our vibrant restaurant team! Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, managing reservations and waitlists efficiently using platforms like OpenTable or similar systems.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and explaining daily specials with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen staff.
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and food safety.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and ensuring the dining space remains inviting and organized.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for bills and tips.
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Support kitchen staff with food handling or food preparation tasks when needed to ensure smooth service flow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Host/Hostess or Server in a restaurant setting, preferably with fine dining or nightlife experience such as nightclubs.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that creates a welcoming environment.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing time efficiently.
- Previous experience with reservation management tools like OpenTable is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the food industry including food preparation processes, serving techniques, and guest relations principles.
- Basic math skills for cashiering duties and bill calculations.
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; a passion for the food industry is essential.
