Your schedule will consist of 8 AM to 4:30 PM, offering you the flexibility to engage in enriching experiences during the day. What's your job duties?


TRANSPORTATION POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinates safe transportation of hospitalized patients to and from their residences/appointments as well as meal pick up if applicable. Also provides assistance to mental health services staff for patient care activities. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the transporting of patients to and from the facility site, assistance in the overall day-to-day functioning of the program including aiding other staff in patient chart production, meal provision, answering telephones and supervision of patients during staff break periods. The Transportation employee is responsible for communicating to staff any problematic or clinical issues that occur during his/her supervision of or transportation of patients.


UNIT CLERK POSITION SUMMARY:

The Unit Secretary (US) acts as a liaison for the nursing staff under the direction of the Nursing Director “ND” . The US coordinates the nursing staff duties and supports the nursing staff incompletion of patient care activities. The US ensures that the medical staff have available all resources requested. The US ensures that patient, family and administrative staff communications are accurately communicated to the respective persons. To provide administrative and clerical support to the nursing staff. The US provides reception duties, greeting patients, families, and deals with queries The US assumes responsibility for ensuring that patient activity is recorded accurately and timely using patient information system. The US ensures the integrity of the medical record, ensuring that forms are correct, charts are filed appropriately, and available to staff. The US assist the Nursing Director in collecting data for reporting purposes. Communicates to the Nursing Director known staffing issues. Under the direction of the ND mentors and trains nursing staff on nursing processes. Acts as a liaisons with vendors to ensure that patient needs are met regarding ordering diets, lab and radiology completion. Coordinates with the ND for transportation needs of the patients. Daily duties include answering the phones, set up patient records and enter new admissions, and discharges into the EHR as well as basic medical data such as a patient’s temperature, pulse and blood pressure. Additional duties include responding to patient and families' request.


MENTAL HEALTH TECH POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) role is to function as a member of the nursing staff to facilitate quality patient care. The MHT supports the licensed nursing staff to ensure the needs of the patients are met by performing routinely assigned tasks and carrying out patient care activities within the scope of the MHT’s training and experience. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients ensuring that the patients activities of daily living are met. They are primarily responsible for the day to day custodial care of the patients. The MHT assist with providing a therapeutic milieu and group assignments as directed. The MHT utilizes a basic knowledge of psychiatric nursing skills and communicate the emotional, behavior, and psychiatric manifestation of the patient’s psychiatric condition to the licensed nursing staff. The MHT is the visible presences of the nursing staff on the unit and are readily available to the patients for the patient’s day to day needs. In addition, they ensure a safe environment through diligent observation of the physical environment as well as the patient’s status. The MHT must communicate effectively identified findings observed with the patients to the licensed nursing staff. In addition, the MHT assist the licensed staff with basic clerical duties when indicated. The MHT will maintain a safe and professional standard for patient care according to facility mission, policy and procedure, and in accordance with all external regulatory and credentialing bodies. As a key member of the nursing staff, the MHT is available to families for communication between the families, patients, and licensed nursing staff. The MHT assist with the nutritional needs of the patients, through working with the licensed nurses to ensure that nutritional needs are met. The MHT utilizes their knowledge of psychiatric condition and understanding of supportive care to manage the therapeutic environment. Displays an understanding of therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques when required.


Problem-solving skills are vital, as you will be tasked with addressing challenging situations and identifying effective interventions to enhance patient care. Excellent communication skills will help you collaborate with team members and articulate observations clearly. Additionally, a keen sense of observation will allow you to notice changes in behavior or mood, contributing to timely and effective care responses.
