Job Summary
The Warehouse Assistant will support end-to-end warehouse operations in our footwear trading setup. This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid level role involving receiving bulk consignments of footwear, organizing stock by style/size/range, picking and packing customer orders, preparing dispatches, and assisting in maintaining accurate stock records. The position requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume trading warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming footwear consignments from suppliers/manufacturers; unload trucks/safely handle cartons, verify quantities, styles, sizes, colors, and quality against invoices/delivery challans, and report shortages, damages, or mismatches.
- Inspect footwear for visible defects (stitching issues, sole detachment, sizing errors, etc.) during receiving and flag quality concerns to supervisors.
- Sort, label, and store footwear stock systematically in designated racks/shelves/bin locations, following proper categorization (by brand, category, gender, size runs) to enable quick retrieval.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and physical verification to maintain high inventory accuracy and report variances.
- Pick footwear items accurately based on customer orders, sales invoices, or dispatch lists received from the trading/sales team.
- Pack orders securely — pairing shoes correctly, using appropriate boxes/polybags, adding silica gels/protective sheets where needed, labeling cartons clearly with destination and order details.
- Prepare dispatch documentation, load outgoing shipments onto transport vehicles, and coordinate with logistics/drivers for timely delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse floor, aisles, and storage areas; flatten empty cartons, dispose of waste, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in stock rotation (FIFO where applicable), space optimization, and rearrangement during peak seasons or new arrivals.
- Update basic stock records manually or in simple inventory systems/Excel sheets as directed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, use provided PPE, and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Minimum 10th / SSLC pass; 12th pass or Diploma in any stream preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years in warehouse, godown, or stores role; prior experience in footwear/apparel trading, wholesale, retail supply chain, or FMCG distribution is highly desirable. Fresh candidates with strong learning attitude will be considered.
- Physical Requirements: Physically fit for lifting/moving cartons up to 20–30 kg repeatedly, prolonged standing/walking, bending, and climbing low ladders/steps.
- Language Skills: Working knowledge of Tamil (essential) and basic English/Hindi for reading labels, invoices, and communicating with team/drivers.
