Key responsibilities
- Warehouse operations: Oversee all daily activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Inventory management: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock audits, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Staff management: Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse staff to ensure productivity and adherence to procedures.
- Logistics coordination: Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies to ensure timely delivery and smooth flow of materials.
- Safety and compliance: Enforce health, safety, and security protocols, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement, implement best practices, and optimize warehouse layout and procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics.
Required qualifications and skills
- Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and MS Office is often required.
- Soft skills: Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Leadership skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Analytical skills: Good analytical and critical thinking abilities to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Certifications: A forklift certification is often a plus.
