Responsibilities
- Perform daily warehouse distribution tasks, including receiving, shipping, and inventory control to maintain optimal flow of materials.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners safely and efficiently to move products within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems like AS400 to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Support process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational efficiency and implementing best practices aligned with lean management principles.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate logistics activities, including shipping & receiving, order picking, packing, and loading.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all operations, including heavy lifting and mechanical equipment use.
- Contribute to warehouse operations by participating in cycle counts, audits, and continuous improvement projects to optimize distribution center performance.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred but not required; we value motivated individuals eager to learn.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including inventory control, shipping & receiving, and materials handling is advantageous.
- Experience operating forklift or other material handling equipment is highly desirable; certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for managerial communication and team leadership roles as you progress into supervisory positions.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, Microsoft Office applications, and logistics software such as AS400 enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with mechanical tools can be beneficial for supporting equipment maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments such as e-commerce fulfillment centers or 3PL distribution hubs.
